Here’s a little info on Mike…

About Mike Martin’s creative career grew largely out of his enthusiasm for the punk rock, hot rod, and growing underground rock scene in the mid-eighties. Starting with black and white flyers for local bands posted on telephone polls, his reputation grew as an artist whose work is compelling as well as culturally gripping – if not down right scary. While he has hundreds of full-color, limited edition, silk screened posters under his belt for such renowned artists as Black Crowes, Pixies, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and 311, he has also done work for such corporate giants as Adidas, Reebok, Hot Topic, Timberland, Coors Brewing, and Safe Auto.
A South Carolina native, Martin relocated to Columbus, Ohio in 2000 and formed the now world-renowned EngineHouse13 design studio. EngineHouse13 was formed with the objective to produce limited edition concert art, as well as one-of-a-kind fine art pieces. Martin’s enthusiastic and unswerving love of music is evident in each and every poster he creates, fueling what has become the EH13 phenomenon. Many of his influences are derived from pop kulture, lowbrow art, and hotrod & kustom car kulture. His work is featured in such books as The Art Of Modern Rock, Gigposters Vol.1, Swag – Rock Posters of the Nineties and Beyond, The Art Of Electric Frankenstein, Rockin’ Down the Highway, and Panda Meat. Additionally, he is featured in the 2009 blockbuster documentary, American Artifact “The Rise of the American Rock Poster”.
When Martin founded EngineHouse13 in 2000, he was already established as a master printer. At EH13′s inception, not only was he the primary designer, he also screen printed each edition by hand. In the early days, the editions were small; only 100 pieces were printed. After a couple of years, Martin wanted to concentrate more on the artistic side of posters, and thus began his search for a publisher. In 2003, Martin began employing the services of DieselFuel Prints in Portland, Oregon. In more recent years, Enemy Ink of Orlando, Florida has come on board as an equally indespensible cog in the EngineHouse13 screen printing machine.
Complementing his prolific body of poster art, Martin joined forces with CaJohn’s Fiery Foods of Columbus, Ohio in 2008 to create a brand of full-flavored EngineHouse13 Hot Sauce. Future plans include a forthcoming line of t-shirts, more mind-blowing posters, fine art, and good times in general.
Interests art, music, girls and hot rods!
